- Steele’s work was included in 1944 in exhibitions held by the San Francisco Art Association, the San Francisco Women Artists, the Oakland Art Gallery and the Laguna Beach Art Association.
- In 1946, Steele’s work was exhibited at San Francisco’s California Palace of the Legion of Honor.
- Steele’s work also was included in the 1951 Bay Region Painting and Sculpture exhibition.
